I played for a while in the campaign, its fun, but I have trouble with maintaining units when they are spread all over the map.

It is off the chain. My copy arrived yesterday and I wasted a good 5 hrs on it already. The single player is great, I think it gives a good mix of strategy while offering the feel of Halo (i.e., the action packed feeling of running down grunts in a warthog, having a spartan chase down a banshee). The mutiplayer is also a blast. Steel and I spent about an hour playing through the initial campaign missions, and with a little arguing got to be pretty bad ass on dividing up the pain for the A.I. With the MP aspect you share resources and create units that only one of you command (so I make my marines, you make yours). I can tell that teamwork and communication is going to be key since we spent a lot of time tearing down base add ons that the other one had already built. The nice part about the co-op is that you actually play through the campaign, cutscenes and all (unlike a lot of "co-op" games now). Hidden objects like skulls, black boxes, and potentially forerunner tech make replaying the maps enjoyable. All in all I think this is a great game and may be the first playable RTS for a console given the ease of controls and the setup of administrative functions. I think the most shining thing I can say about Halo Wars though is that it made me want to dust off Halo 3 afterwards to get back on the ground and do what I had spent hours telling other units to do: Kick covenant A$$!

I am enjoying playing Halo Wars. I love the automatic difficulty for the computer when playing skirmish. I've only played one game, and the rating is at 50 now, which is identical to Heroic.
The campaign is good. I usually get very annoyed by RTS campaigns, and this one is no different (The civilian rescue mission comes to mind here), but not to the point to where I won't play the campaign as others have done.
I've yet to play this game online against others, or play Co-op campaign.

I created a team for us on Game Battles, maybe in a few weeks or longer we can start some friendly scrimmaging every once and a while. I think stuff like game battles adds to the experience of any gaming. Just don't take it too seriously.

Halo Wars is exclusively on xbox 360. Halo:Combat Evolved was exclusievly on the Xbox, and then it went to PC, we will probably see it sooner or later.
