yes but much higher than 40 and that's not 40 total units as some units cost several population points. 40 is the cap?? Yep. Each unit uses a particular amount of population. For instance, your regular Marine units and Flame thrower units are 1 pop unit each. The Scorpion tank is 3 pop units. You have to research a pop cap increase to get to 40. You initially start with 30. So build 10 Scorpion tanks and you've used all your population allocations until something dies.

Its necessary in this day and age in RTS's. Mass units really lag down the game, especially with high quality graphics and online play. However, its def fun to just mass produce and send a huge army, I used to do that on red alert back in the day.

Brandon, TJ and I used to have epic battles on C&C Generals: Zero Hour. I would always win because Brandon and TJ would pick on each other and leave me to build my terrorist network so large that nothing could stop it.
Anyway back on subject. I finish the campaign on Heroic last night. In all it took a little over 19 hours of game time to complete it. That includes looking for the black boxes and trying to get the skulls. I ended up having to go back to some of the previous misions and replay them to get the skull and find the black box becasue I finished thelevel too quickly or chose to not complete all the optional objectives (usually the one needed to have the skull present).
It took almost 21 hours total to get all the skulls and blackboxes available in the game, A few more hours and I'll have the "24 hours" achievement.
I'm still trying to figure out the Halo Timeline details. It seems that some of the timeline is unlocked by missions, other parts are unlocked by the blackboxes, and some unlocked by playing skirmish games. Brandon played a skirmish game last night with the brute chieftan as his leader unit and it unlocked two or three events on the Halo Timeline. I'm thinking that playing all the leaders, maps, and the two gametypes will unlock the remaining timeline events but I'm not sure yet.
I have yet to play a game on live, co-op, or a skirmish against Monkey or Steel but I'm sure it'll but fun.

So if anyone is interested in playing HW with Steel and I let us know. We are both tired of trash talking to each other.

ohhhh boy i love this game.
i played a computer 1v1 and ended up having 4 scarabs, deathmatch is so awesome. haha
I like how the AI is automatically adjusted to your skill level. I went up to a 71 after just a couple games, I don't know if that's good or bad but w/e.
=edit=
i am currently going back and looking for all the skulls and black boxes.
