Rock Band > Guitar Hero Rock Band < Guitar Hero
Which is the answer? Personally I like Rock Band more because i love the drums, although i suck a fat one at them. But the guitar parts seem to be extremely easy. The bass is laughable just like in real life. This game seems to be better when you have some friends over but Guitar Hero is fun alone and with a partner. The singing in Rock Band looks like fun but my mic didn't work out of the box =(

Cheaper price for GH3 makes my opinion:
GH3 > Rock Band

GH3 >>> Rock Band. I don't want to play Drums. Let me shred on some intense/ complicated guitar pieces and crank up the difficulty. For GH veterans, Rock Band is teh snooze buttonz

Rock Band. Higher fun, better soundtrack, and more things to do. Hardest songs not as hard as GH, but singing and drums more than make up for it. (all IMO)
Plus way more customization with your character.

Rock Band needs to learn how to put in hard guitar parts.

There's only one song that has any true difficulty to it, and that's Green Grass and High Tides. Just has two annoying as hell (Meaning difficult) solos. Flirtin' With Disaster is hard as well, but nothing overly difficult.

I think they are equal in their own rights. Rock Band was made to be more of a family/friends get together and have fun type game whereas Guitar is who can shred the songs the best. We just got Rock Band today and I have to say it is fun. THe guitar that comes with it blows but other than that we had a blast playing. The whole family got involved, even my wife who doesn't like video games played. She was the singer.
I'll admit that the guitar and bass lines are no where near as hard as guitar hero but I think that's the point. There's no way my family, other than Brandon, would enjoy guitar hero as much as we did Rock Bang together.
So my impression is that that are both good for what they were designed to do. No more no less. Both games have a good line-up of songs and plenty of extra songs available for download. Niether game is superior to the other to me.

The hammerons are just more difficult. That's it. By what I've been told, that's how they are in GH2.
And no annoying clicking FTW.
