Rock Band needs to learn how to put in hard guitar parts. That sums it up.

GH3 is even MORE forgiving in its hammer ons and timing than GH2 was, and GH2 moreso than GH1. For example, in "Before I Forget" by Slipknot, there's a section that has three notes in a row followed by a chord, then four of the same note followed by a chord. For the first part, you only need strum twice, and the other part, you only need strum three times. Normally, you would need to strum 4 total, and 5 times total respectively. This would NOT fly on GH1.

I havr both Rock Band and GH3. Overall, I say Rock Band because it a get together game for friends nut it does have its faults. I wish you could go on tour online instead of just joining to practice or just play a song. The tug of was vs is pretty cool. The drums absolutely rock...heck I even bought a set of firestix lighted drumsticks, they add a lot of fun to the group gathering The Strato with cord kinda bites with the exception of adjustable setting and lower frets. Plus, I've already had to send one back foir strum bar problems. On down loads I think Rock Band has it hands down....simply put more content and selection. GH3 is a blast if I just want to kinda spaz out and grind some frets. The Les Is a very solid wireless guitar. Its flawless in play. However, you can not adjust the sound nor simply grind a lower set of frets for big rock endings in rock band (if you have both). The game is solid and very entertaining in its own right. Plus, it has Def Leppard as downloadable content. So in all here would be my answer....
Rock Band = Guitar Hero 3, the choice of play style is yours.

The Strat strum bar is much smoother as well. Plus, Rock Band has so much better music that it's not even funny. I like having more than 10 DLC songs like there are in GH.

Guitar Hero has been more consistent with DLC as of late. They just put out another 6 songs... granted, none of the DLC songs have been technical enough to interest me. Here's to hoping for some thrash metal or something.

But on the subject of Guitar Hero, is anyone else getting GH: Aerosmith?

But on the subject of Guitar Hero, is anyone else getting GH: Aerosmith? Definitely not. I'm not gonna spend the money on Aerosmith. I would rather wait for GUitar Hero 4 (which is gonna OWN.) or get GH: Metallica when it comes out within a year.

I just got the GH: On Tour last night.
It's fun. Takes a bit to get used to, but it's fun. Good songs to start, then it gets a little worse in the later sets.
