Halo 4 Snipers Tournament
Time to find out who our best Halo 4 sniper is! And although we may already have an idea of who that is, we all have to at least attempt to take down Spartan Project in an official tournament.
Date: Wednesday December 19, 2012
Time: Approx 6pm pacific (9pm eastern)
General Format
Multi-round tournament. We sill start with pool play, breaking into smaller parties for 12 minute games. The number of people there are will dictate the number of pool play games. I suspect there will be just two games, but if there is enough people there might be 3.
Pool play games will be 10 minutes long and have no score limit. After the fist pool play game, the top performers from each game will be matched up in the second game, and conversely the performers on the bottom half of each game will be matched up. The second game will run just as the first (10 min game, no score limit). So for this tournament, everyone is guaranteed at least 2 games.
Advancement to the finals will be based on your average PI from the pool play games. I wanted to do something a little different, using PI will pool play allows us to reward players who may not have racked up as many kills, but still played will and had a good K/D ratio.
So, after the pool play games, we will have a short intermission while I plug the numbers into my PI spreadsheet. I will send out messages with the results, the top 8 players as determined by average PI will advance to the finals.
The finals will be a more standard FFA format. We will play to 50 and the final results will not be based on PI, rather standard placing in the game. So being more aggressive may benefit you here.

Games types will be uploaded to my fileshare tonight, look for "TDC Snipers FFA Pool Play" and TDC Snipers FFA Finals". I am debating putting a few grenade spots on the map, I will fool around with that tonight.
Loadouts
In an effort to make it fair, I am not allowing your personal loadouts, you must choose from loadouts I have created for this game type. They are rather simple, one will be for UNSC sniper, the other will have the beam rifle. You will also have two options for armor abilities: thruster pack or hologram. You will have 1 grenade, use it wisely.
Alpha
Beta
Gamma
Delta
Map Info
Below are overviews of the modifications of the maps that I made for the tournament. The changes are simple. There are sniper rifles (UNSC or beam) in the corners of the maps (and an additional in the center on some) on 60 second respawn that can be used for collecting ammo. On each map there is a binary rifle ordnance in the center, it will drop every to minutes.
Binary Rifle drops bottom middle next the the yellow lift thing. Sniper and beam rifles in the corners and bottom middle as well.
Binary Rifle drops bottom middle. Sniper and beam rifles are on the bottom levels in the corners.
Binary Rifle drops on top of the large roof in the center of the map. The sniper in the middle is inside that room.
So, look for the game type in my fileshare. If I am online in the next couple of days, I will be running practice games.
If you have questions, please let me know. I will update this thread if there are any changes.
