Finally Rory makes a thread that does not belong in the junkyard. lol
Ok here goes. Not much has changed with me I am still looking for an internship/job for the summer. I have been doing some heavy research on many companies that are going to attend my career fair and I have been brushing up on my speaking skills. I also have done quite a few mock interviews at my career center to better prepare myself for winter recruiting. Recently I passed the EIT/FE exam (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering) and I am hoping that gives me an edge over other candidates (although I am a little pessimistic about it because I think a majority of the people have taken it and passed it).
At this current moment I am distracted and should be working on my proposal. Thanks a lot Rory

Got news for you...not many engineers are rich, especially me at the moment since I got laid off. Sucks to be looking for a job right now. Good thing I am married to a lawyer.

I'm just going through college. Working 3 nights a week, bowling 3 nights (2 league, one college practice). Have a huge home tournament coming up on Saturday that I'm psyched about, except for the 7:30 AM start time.

They were recruiting at my school. Why would they want to get rid of an experienced engineer and hire new ones?

Currently going to college at UT, majoring in petroleum engineering. Some really interesting stuff, getting my ass kicked by calculus, but I'll manage. Sorry to hear about the job Jeremy, but you'll find something. My dad went the last year without a job, now he has the job of his lifetime. It will all work out in due time.
Hope to catch up with all of you sometime.

They were recruiting at my school. Why would they want to get rid of an experienced engineer and hire new ones? If I was still working for the LA office, I would still have a job. But I was the new guy in San Diego, and they laid off half of the office, so obviously I got the cut.
