So I don't know how many wastelanders are on the forums, but has anyone downloaded The Pitt? According to Bethesda the first download that was put up on Marketplace on the 24th was "corrupted" so they reposted a new file on the 25th. I downloaded the new file which doesn't work either. I have been trolling the Fallout 3 forums and it looks like around 50-60% of the people that downloaded the "fixed" version are still having problems. The main issue is that the game locks up as you try to interact with the main quest giver. I also saw several people that said their xbox locked up and upon restart gave them the red rings of death. Just didn't know if anyone of us has had these issues and if anyone knew how to fix it. Otherwise beware of the DLC.
*Update*
So last night I deleted The Pitt, cleared the cache on my xbox and once again downloaded the file from marketplace. This morning I tried to check if the newest download worked. Now, to my surprise none of my saved games will load. I keep getting a message about content not being found, followed by a total system lock, same thing happens with a new character. Looks like I may have to delete all my fallout 3 game data and try to reinstall everything. There goes 55 hrs of gametime.
*Gripe*
So is this what we can expect from microsoft? I mean I know this is the first marketplace content with these issues, but c'mon I mean allowing a file to be uploaded that can crash your xbox completely? I was under the impression that they were stringent on testing to prevent stuff like this from happening. The other annoyance is that there is no info as to whether there will be another fix or not. Bethesda keeps posting pictures of cakes and programmers with puppets, and their forum moderators keep telling people that there is no problem that " the new software update is bug free, and if you are having issues with your game it must be because you are using a corrupted save file." (sorry I don't know how to link to the posting)
