Mythic Map Pack release date

Major Nelson has revealed that the Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack will be available to everyone come April 9 for the price of 800 ($10). The pack contains three new maps: Sandbox, Assembly and Orbital. So, if you haven't broken down and bought the limited edition of Halo Wars, which contains a token to download the maps, you now know exactly how long you have to wait. Mark your calendars kids, just a few more weeks until you too can have fun with Killballs.

By my few gaming experiences on them, I feel this map pack has 3 maps that are well worth playing. Orbital may be the worst, or Sandbox. Orbital is hella fun for some CTF or Assault, while Sandbox is just great for messing around in. I've yet to play a real game on Assembly, but by the looks, it looks flat out great.

But, none of these maps can hold a candle to Avalanche.

I have them and I think they are pretty fun. I've only played a couple games on Orbital and Assembly but they are worth it to me. Sandbox doesn't come up alot in MM and when it does people veto it.

Bungie has a lot of varients in the works for sandbox, using all the levels of it to create different gaming environments. Sandbox is definitely big enough that people will be able to remake some of their favorite smaller maps of Halo 1 and 2.

Assembly and Orbital are confusing for a bit, much like any new map. You need to spend some time finding where everything is located. Other than that I've had a good time with them. Plus, there's achievements that can only be done on the mythic maps so there's gamerscore to be had as well.
