Actually, the only game the actual BCS rankings picks is the championship game. The only other thing it decides is the at large bids. Every BCS game has a link to a BCS conference. It's either 2 or 4 at large teams as well that are picked by highest non-BCS conference winners rankings in the BCS.

yes.. but picking the bowl games based on their already set format is still a part of the bcs

too annoyed right now to read, but yeah, i don't mind the bcs, although it seems like there's always that one team that gets messed over when it comes to making the championship. still.. gotta admit the every game matters atmosphere overall is much more interesting than a playoff ever could be.

The others are by conference champion. It just happened to be used as a Tiebreaker in one of the systems.
