Seems like an add-on to Halo 3 is coming. Possibly not just another campaign level to Halo 3 but more like add-on you'd see in PC games. This could be good. Linky=edit= After reading some info at joystiq.com it's definitely and add-on to Halo 3 but from what was announced at the MS keynote briefing at the Toyko game show there's no Chief. This portion will take you though as an ODST recon marine. Should be interesting enough. www.joystiq.com

That's great. There's a video out now on the dashboard. Downloaded it, but haven't watched it yet.
@ new achievements: The 0 GS achievements are worth getting. You get armor for them all.

More info on Recon. It seems that Bungie is stating that it's a stand alone disk. You'llbe playing as a lone Recon Marine in the Covenant controlled New Mombasa. They're saying it'll be a whole different experience as you'll need to pick your battles instead of just charging in as Chief. There's a whole lot more inteh article at joystiq.com. Go check it out. =edit= Obvious questions that were answered in the interview: - "It will be a standalone disc sold in stores in boxes next Fall. It's also going to include some multiplayer maps."
- "It is a first-person shooter still ... It's not a squad-based shooter."
- "As an ODST, compared to playing as in invulnerable Spartan, you are going to have to sort of pick and choose your encounters a little bit differently."
- "It is going to very much feel like Halo. Full feature parity."
The game runs on the Halo 3 engine as well but the graphics are said to be darker.

sounds nifty. I was wondering what it'd be like to play as a marine.

I thought you liked games that were "not like halo" ie. CoD4?

ii dislike cod4, almost with a passion. it was good for the first week or two.. and then people tried to play it competitively.
the thing about this is, is it's still being called halo. they're totally milking it with some lame spinoff. i'd rather see something that feels like a halo game out of them, it's what they're best at
