I got a message from the autoupdate program saying that service pack 3 for windows xp is out. Did anyone else get this. It seems like an important update, but I am too lazy to back up all the stuff on my computer at the moment.

It's cumulative update and it has some security patches. Youwon't need to worry about a back-up as it sets a restore point before installing as long as your have system restore activated. There are some critical updates that came out after SP3 so I would run the update and get all high priority updates at a minimum.
