Tried to get on for MLG mondays, but my box freezes 10 seconds after I turn it on. I'm not getting the RRoD or anything. It just freezes. Any suggestions?

20 minute towel wrap?
just kidding dont do that
thats what happened to mine. take out the harddrive and see if it keeps happening, obviously without the hard drive you cant really do much anyways, but it will help in finding the source of the problem

Freezing could be a problem with the video chipset. It was happening with some of the boxes before the 3 red lights. A couple days later the lights appeared.

I've been having problems with Halo 3 too but mine is it crashes to the dashboard and the sound disappears about half way through a match. I get a dirty disk error most of the time and I cannot load any of the new maps. I've tried my disk and Brandon's and both do the same thing. I think it's my hard drive as I got an error message for COD 4 last night.
Try a different game, if it's still freezing expect to send it in for repairs soon.

Yea, I tried playing Guitar Hero and it froze everytime I chose a song. How much does it cost for a repair?

That sucks...call 1-800-4my-xbox to see what they can do for you before you rule it out. Maybe they'll know the three red lights are coming and fix it under a warranty repair.
=edit=
I forgot to ask, do you have your xbox in an enclosed area or is it out in the open?

It is standing vertically about an inch away from my television. So it's completely free on one side but a bit enclosed on the other.

you could try moving it out a bit more to get better air circulation to see if it's a heat problem.
