I play Halo 3 almost everyday and the custom games are still insanely fun as compared to Halo 2. I will admit that i do miss Warlock flag but it's not enough to go back and suffer through Halo 2 again. Also i have no idea what you guys are talking about there being nobody on, ask Zangief the second i sign online i automatically start a custom game and invite everybody and fill up a room hastily. Just try joining in from time to time. Don't think you're on my list. Also, had no idea you even played. I wouldn't call something you spent years on "suffering" either, but yeah. I'll give MLG on Halo 3 a try, they did a good job at making Halo 2 much better. I have serious doubts that I'll like it, because you can't edit the problems I have with the game using forge.

Lol, that is so lame Roggie. Halo 3 has provided so much more versatility for MLG its insane. The possibilities are endless with Forge. New stuff like equipment was taken out of MLG because it does not fit into a balanced and competitive style of play. And I agree, the bubble shield just doesn't have a place in games where people are truly trying to be competitive. That doesn't mean it has no place at all. I enjoy a good balance of different kinds of games: hardcore MLG style games, competitive bungie style (default) as the whole array of new Halo 3 gadgets are used (new weapons, equip, etc), and frivolous games like rocket race, sandtrap race, griffball and the like. The latest fad started by Brandon and Tyler that Halo 2 is where its at is pure hypocrisy, and it makes me laugh every time I read something they post about it. I agree with them on one point: it can still be fun to play Halo 2. Its true, no doubt. But I disagree completely with their reasoning as to why. To all of the reasons they have listed, they have said the complete opposite for years on end. They are doing this for the same reason they have always done things around here: to try to be different for the purpose of making themselves feel superior. But what they are doing is harmless, and within a matter of weeks will be old news. I do however have a suggestion for both of them as to how they could make their Halo 2 efforts not in vein. I will send you guys PM's with my thoughts. Anyways, obviously I disagree with you Roggie, and I am 100% for this MLG playlist. I believe that MLG is accomplishing their goal of providing a competitive setup for professional play with their Halo 3 approach, much better than in Halo 2 I might add. Do not forget, their purpose is not for you, Roggie, to have fun, but to promote their product, which is professional gaming. Jeremy, I'm saying that they are trying to turn Halo 3 into Halo 2. Look at it. All they did was remove equipment (which I agree with in competitive games) and duals. But duals in Halo 3 are nothing like they were in Halo 2. They fit with the game. MLG should have utilized duals and added them in. Look at MLG's halo maps. Removed duals and equipment. That's basically it. Maybe moved a couple of weapons around. But they just tried to replicate what worked in Halo 2. Good starting point, but with nothing changing since then, it is a bad decision. And I still love the great competitive game. Sure, it pisses me off when I get my ass kicked (See: First scrimmage). But I do enjoy them when I play the way I can. I'm just not going to play a gametype on Halo 3 that is a direct mimic of Halo 2. If I want that, I'll play Halo 2. So, please tell me where them using forge has made them more versatile. All I see is Halo 2 with updated graphics and no weapon glitches.

All I see is Halo 2 with updated graphics and no weapon glitches. Then why not play Halo 3 since you did not like the weapon glitches in 2? Anyways, the MLG gametypes are not the same as Halo 2, they did not just take out duals and equip. They changed weapon spawns, character spawns and the most noticeably changed the timing of weapon spawns. The new weapon spawn is more similar to Halo CE's spawning system as in tons better. The power weapons spawn at the same time every match forcing a collision of both teams at a certain area at certain times. It is no longer like Halo 2 where if one team controls a sniper only they know the next time it'll spawn giving them an unfair advantage.

I think they changed the pit to make a FFA map, I remember playing with TequilaDo on that map, and I played some customs with him and I had fun with it.

Winning a game is not so much about controlling power weapons now. In Halo 1 spawns were cycling, meaning you could pick the sniper up at 1:50 and it still would respawn at 2:00. Most power weapons in Halo 2 would stay gone until you dropped them. Then the respawn time would start. Halo 3 does not do that, plus you can control the spawns in forge. Halo 3 is a newer version of Halo 2 and Halo 1, of course it will have a similar feel. I think its updated and different then Halo 2. If you look at the MLG settings, custom power ups are used, shield modifiers, weapon modifiers, all these to encourage team skill over the luck of having a power weapon or good spawn. You want duals? Play team slayer, there are 60K plus people in there at any given time. I've said it before, I enjoy both game styles. I like the diversity of default, and the competition of MLG. The mauler is in MLG, god help you if you let the other team have some one dual wield them. I do not think MLG tried to make Halo 3 like Halo 2. As I have been saying, they have custom tailored the game to fit professional gaming.

I imagine that the play list will have the current MLG settings and maps (version 4), and that is probably how it will stay, perhaps with an update a few months down. I doubt they will update it every time MLG updates their settings.
