MLG released their official gametypes for Halo 3 a few days ago. As expected, it follows in Halo 2's footsteps with battle rifle starts. Here is the link: MLG Halo 3 GametypesNow, I have to say I am not 100% convinced I like it better than default start. The assault rifle is a good weapon now, in close combat situations it is preferable to a BR. That was not the case in halo 2. I think in the long run I will prefer MLG, but who knows. I think maybe a better way would be to have both battle rifle and assault rifle as starting weapons (primary and secondary). Bungie put a lot more BR's on the maps to pick up also, so mm is not quite as frustrating as Halo 2.

Yeah. . I'm really not in the mood for the hardcore MLG halo 3 stuff yet. default is fine with me for now, if that will change.. we'll see.

I actually do prefer the AR as a close to semi-mid range weapon. It drains shields fast, and it's a good weapon.

just a few shots hit and a melee takes em down, dare I say, I like the AR.

I'm not even touching MLG for a while. Maybe a couple here and there when we mess around in it, but I don't see myself ever becoming close to what I was on Halo 2 (MLG wise.) Too much stress for me.

i was kind of disappointed with these maps, all they did was take out duals and equipment

I didn't download their maps. It will be way too much effort to keep updated with current MLG maps, especially if they change a lot of stuff. I mean, if I was going to MLG tournaments every month I would.
You say they got rid all the equipment? I think equipment use adds yet another compenent of strategy to Halo 3. Bad move MLG. Dual wielding is not noobish anymore, again, it is part of the strategy to chose the right combo for the right situation. In Halo 2, the BR was always a better choice than dualing. Not the case in Halo 3. They are making the game really bland by taking out duals and equipment.
So far, I am not on the Halo 3 MLG bandwagon at all. I would have been fine with BR/AR start and no radar...not all these other changes.
