first off...if you haven't beaten Halo 3 yet then DONT read this post.
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````
I beat the game on legendary today and watched the alt ending which said a lot. Everyone told me that Master Chief dies at the end because of the 117 in the wall...but the ending shows different.
my dad thinks they will make another one because bungie left Halo3 so open that they could do ANYTHING with the story now. I don't think they will because they said they wouldn't. They might do a pre-Halo game though..that would be cool.
anyway, anyone lost with the story because i think i know what went down? the alt ending says alot too
What alternate ending are you talking about? If you watched through the enitre credits they had a little more at the end. I finished it on normal and saw that.
yeah they left it too open for a final game in a trilogy in my opinion. but i was glad to see MC lived. probably will have a few knockoff halo games unless bungie realizes they havent made a good game besides halo and decides to make a number 4.
I don't like the ending at all. If it's the last game, it needs to be wrapped up. It's way too open. It's worse than reading an open-ended book. Literally, it reminded me of H2 in a sense. But the war officially ended on my birthday.
Yeah, I had a bunch of kids at school tell me MC died. I'm like, I doubt it. I beat it on Legendary (which I beat it on first, so I never saw it without knowing he was alive), and was like, phew, Halo 4.
I still want Halo 4 to be about Reach, though.
I hope they go back to Reach.
Remember in one of the Halo novels where it said that the Covenant glassed the whole planet except for one part?
Maybe there is something else there.
and whatever happened to Dr. Halsey and Lisa I think. I never fully read Ghosts of Onyx, so yeah.
Nobody read this post if they have not finished the game on Legendary either, or you will be pissed.
I thought about the ending and Halo 3 a little bit. Think about it. At the start, it was all about stopping anyone from activating Halo. They ended up doing that. They went full circle there. Remember the start of Halo 1? Waking up from the cryo tube? Full circle again. Halo 3 ends, and he's asleep in a cryo tube. Am I a fan of the ending? No. But it's perfect.
I've got a couple of theories. At the end of Ghost of Onyx the remaining Spartans are alive in some sort of shelter that was designed as a safe place if the rings were ever activated. Onyx is a mysterious black planet, sorta like the one you see Master Chiefs half of the ship floating towards.....
My other theory revolves around Marathon. Marathon was about some Cyborg killing stuff, the Cyborg just fell out of space without any explanation. On Bungie's timeline they claim Marathon takes place in the "Halo" Universe approximately 250 years after the events in Halo. Could Master Chief be the Cyborg?
I wouldn't be surprised if Bungie's next game is Marathon, and it takes place on Onyx, tying the stories together. Master Chief will be woken out of his sleep far in the future on Onyx where that bad ass AI takes him over (Durandel or something) and forces him to go all ape shit on some people.
