Bungie is not adding clan support to Halo 3. It was asked in the August 10th podcast and they answered with an adament no. They did say taht Bungie is reworking their clan support on Bungie.net and that there's rumor about clan support from xbox live. If you want to listen to the info for yourself you can find it here. The question is asked around the 47 minute mark. While I think this may suck I'm sure we'll find a way around it. We may need to manage matches on Bungie.net or hopefully the live update will be real and functional. It's not going to make things much different. I mean, with Halo 2 right now, we use the clan menu as an extra friends list. That's it. TDC is right after our names... that's the whole purpose clans have in Halo 2 as of now.
In Halo 3, we're not going to get access to an extra friends list. That's pretty much it. Now that clan match has died out, there's just no purpose to have clans.

Well, hopefully the universal clan support on from live will make up for the loss of it in game.

the clan list was more helpful then you are giving it credit for joe. back when halo 2 was the big thing it was really helpful to have that clan list because a lot of peoples friends list were too full to add everyone in the clan

Yeah they were.
It would be cooler if you could like..organize the matches though.
Do a matchmaking system where it showed clans around your level only, and you had to send them a request to play them. That way you could weed out the modding clans since no one will want to play them.

It would help out the circle jerkers though. (Circle boosters, I mean.) If you could play the same guys over and over again by choice, everyone would rank up that way.

They would just have to implement something so you couldn't play the same clan over and over again. Say, you can only play one clan 3 times a week, or something to that extent.

I'd still get 3 wins a week that way. Eventually, I'd be in first, and I'd be undefeated. Then, all the loser clans can join our clan. It's a pyramid scheme. |
