I've moved on to Rock Band. I'm enjoying it much more, and the Stratocaster pwns the Xplorer. It feels so much better it's not even funny.

The Les Paul is better than both (when it works to its full potential)
Even better than that, is the PS2 wired Gibson SG control. Simply perfect in every way.
In other news, I am Raining Blood away from 5 starring expert. I also finished all of the free downloadable content. Devil Went Down to Georgia is VERY hard on expert. Alot of fun though. I still haven't beaten the Devil in a duel though.

Scratch that Shoaib, I beat Lou today and 5-starred raining blood. I have finished expert on GH3, now I just need to go beat easy, medium, and hard. Then I'll aim for the rest of the achievements.

I beat GH3 on medium today and I beat Lou. Playing TTFATF at the end was not cool (I was not expecting it). I've tried it in quickplay and got to 94% on medium before I failed. I will beat that song!
=edit=
oh and I got 83% on One. I love playing that song. It's one of Metallica's greatest songs ever!

Congrats Rick! Good Luck on Hard. I hear it's way more difficult than GH2 was on Hard. The last 5 songs are supposedly Killer.
I have faith you can finish TTFATF, keep at it.
And in regards to your edit, I think "One" is a great song as well. Definitely one of Metallica's greatest. I feel that only the solos are GH worthy though. Something like "Blackened" or "Battery" would have been better IMO.
Does anyone else REALLY miss having tracks from Megadeth, Lamb of God, and Buckethead? I feel that songs like "Tornado of Souls" (which is actually referenced, after defeating Lou), "Hourglass," and "Nottingham Lace" could have been included to do their respective artists some justice. Oh well, here's to DLC. Can't wait to see what challenges that brings.

I made it through TTFATF on medium twice now. Brandon says I'm sturmming too fast so I'll see if I can get better. After finally getting throught that song I was able to pull off an 88% on One.
Brandon and I are almost done with the Hard Co-op set. One is kicking our ass as well as one other song.
I tried TTFATF on hard and only made it to 4%. Then I stupid enough to try expert. The furthest I got was 1%.
There are some good songs in the store if you haven't gotten them. Plus the ones in teh set list are not bad at all. I actually know most of them. There's a couple that can go suck it...hate the dead kennedys.

I was so proud of myself when I got 2% on TTFAF on expert.
@ Rick: It's Through The Fire And Flames, not The Flames. Just an FYI.

@ Rick: It's Through The Fire And Flames, not The Flames. Just an FYI. Ironically enough, you wasted more energy typing this than Rick does by placing the extra "T." Congrats though everyone. GH3 is a big step up from GH2. I noticed all of the note charts got alot more complex and the songs use strange time signatures. It's alot of fun, but alot harder. TTFAF is tough on hard and expert. Not impossible though. Once you get past the intro, it's smooth sailing until the last solo (which isn't in the original recording of the song...) I recall getting 1% the first time I tried it on expert. Once I got past the intro though, I cleared the song. As of today, I have not failed anywhere PAST the first 5% of that song. Once you get past TTFAF, I recommend you attempt the boss battle songs. I don't think I realized how tough they were because I didn't usually have to play all the way through them. Tom Morello and Slash go down so quick, that when I played their songs solo, I was taken aback. (Basically the DLC boss songs are all of the traded solos, pasted onto a note chart, one after the other.) I barely squeaked out 3 stars on my sight read of each. I failed TDWDTG (Lou's song) on my first run through. I managed to beat it on my second try. EXCELLENT practice for the real duel. If you guys get stuck on a song, remember to take it to practice mode. Many times, you find that you're making a simple mistake that you can fix just by looking at the note chart at a slower speed. (This happened to me while playing "One." The 'beautiful riff' or whatever it's called kept ruining my multiplier. I took it into practice mode and found I was missing a strum that I thought was a hammer on.) Good luck with the co-op career. I wish I had a co-op partner... "Helicopter" is one of my favorite songs of all time. So my rant ends... this has been Guitar Hero with Joe. Go Joe.

Now, what's the worst song on the game? I'm going with I'm In The Band by the Hellacopters.

Hmmm.... that's really tough. I liked alot of the songs in the game. "Holiday in Cambodia" is alot better than Rick gives credit for.
I can't think of a "worst song" per se. I tend to play the last 10 songs more than any others though... and "Paint it Black." It's a fairly easy song, but its so pretty... so so pretty.

I get bored playing Paint it Black. I like all of the non-bonus songs, but a lot of the bonus songs are horrible.

I tend to disagree with you Roggie. I think the bonus songs were all pretty much solid. Definitely had alot more good bonus songs compared to GH2. (Though GH2 did have some GREAT bonus songs... Jordan, Thunderhorse, TLTB, Push Push (Lady Lightning).) GH3 has some really good ones. (My Curse, Impulse, Mauvais Garcon, All the Downloaded content, Minus Celcius, Prayer of the Refugee, TTFAF, Take This Life, The Way it Ends) All good songs, and a Blast to play. I dunno, I probably just appreciate different music than you. I don't like country. At all...
Maybe that's the main discrepancy here?
Edit: Rick, after playing with you on co-op today, I just have one question. How are you activating Star Power? From what I could see, you were using the tilt function of the guitar. Have you tried using the back button? It simplifies star power alot. I noticed alot of the streaks you missed happened when you went to activate star Power. Try hitting the back button for a while. Use the heel of your palm.
If using the Les Paul, your hand is already in position. If using the Xplorer, try taping a quarter or something of size over the back button. It should make things much easier when you get the hang of it.

I think I have to send my Stratocaster in. I have to plug it in like 25 times to get it to register.
