Any of u guys here play it? I rediscovered it, and I think im gonna be devoting more time to it. I'll still play Halo, but I went back and played CoD. It was great! No cheaters, everyone was nice, I had a great time, and I went 39-33 first game. U guys should really try it out. Screw gettin a 37 in Halo. Call of DUty owns! And, I can beat ANY clan member in CoD.

it may be a nice break from the frustrations that come with halo but it will only be that...a game that can give you a break. It does not have the action and the depth of Halo, no FPS does.

no, i thin in the action department, CoD has plenty. Maybe not depth. But, Halo is gettin kinda old. I mean, I've played almost nothing but Halo since Nov. 21 (when I got my xbox) Only stopping to play DOA: Ultimate and Ninja Gaiden in between. U get really sick of the crap that goes on, and I think a break like this is necessary. Especially because, when I take Halo breaks, I feel better, do better in school, and Im not as depressed. (yes, cheaters cause depression, depression causes suicide. Suicide Causes death. Through the Transitive Property of equality, Cheaters in Halo are homicidal maniacs.) (Tyler, I want a proof for that one) So, if ur ever playing CoD, look me up. I'll be the one that's winning.

I'm getting BF2, and cod if i have the money. i played counter strike and no one cheats but it is just not as fun as halo. when ever i play a fps i always com pair to halo and halo in my book is way better. i don't really mind cheaters. what would be the challenge if no one cheated.

Ummm lets see here... If ur a cheater, then, what is the challenge? If u cheat, u win. Whoever can mod best, wins most. I dont like that premise. In CS:S and CoD and other pc FPS's there's almost NO cheating. Most of the cheating is on servers that not only allow it, but also encourage it. I LOVE that. You don't play cheaters unless u want to. i can play CoD for hours at a time and still want to play more. It used to be that way for Halo, but now (Observe, FFA tourney #2, I took 2nd place in the semis and backed down to give someone else a chance) Halo a.k.a. Gay-lo a.k.a. Rorgy is just a load of trash. In fair games, People like the members of TDC will win. but, 50% at least, of the games I play are completely decided by: mods/ connection/ host/ bridge/ luck. Therefore, CoD is more fun to me. CoD is WAYYYY more skill oriented than most games and it is more balanced than Halo online mainly because Halo online is sooo host dominated. Just try CoD everyone, u will be glad u did. And, Keven, u can get CoD 1 for about $10 now. Or $20 for CoD 1 and CoD 1 : United offensive. CSS rapes too, ill prolly start Counterstrike again too. BF 2 is a BLAST. I love sniping in that game. Of Course, tank spawn-campers totally suck. It just gets soooo old. U should require a KIT to use a vehicle. Also, the game an get pretty cheap, but overall, I enjoy playing it.

You are talking apples and oranges when you compare PC games and console games. I have come to the conclusion that they can not be compaired fairly. And since I thought you were talking about call of duty for xbox Joe, my thoughts change slightly.
When it comes to console FPS, nothing compares to halo. Like I said, nothing has the action, depth, smooth gameplay, and so forth, cheating on xbox live aside. Its a whole different story for PC FPS, there are plenty of games as good and better than halo. CoD, CSS, BF1/2, all of those are great games.
If cheating is what is ruining your halo experience, then I think you play halo for the wrong reasons. The only time you are cheated against is in ranked matchmaking games and if you get pissed, it is because you care too much about your level. I try hard to provide an environment where we can have the same level of competition as matchmaking without the frustrations of cheating and lost levels through clan activities and custom games.
I find customs to be far more satisfying (see my thoughts from the December newsletter article), and I think most of the clan does as well. Not worrying about your level is great, it makes the game so much more fun. Sure, I will admit matchmaking is fun when you get a legit game - no cheating, no lag, no 13 year old punks talking shit. But how often does that happen? Maybe 10 or 15 % of the time. And thats about as much of my time is allocated to ranked matchmaking - 10 to 15%.
Matchmaking blows, play customs (and try to break up your thoughs with paragraphs, it is much easier to read).

Even Customs can piss me off.
I like to Win.. ALOT.
and, when someone like Tyler, who is my skill level (about) goes and beats me one on one because he pays more for a faster internet connection. That ruins it for me.
I can't have fun when I feel that the game isn't decided by skill alone. Halo has gotten old because a whole lot of sub-par players can trashtalk and get kills just because they can do things a quarter of a second faster.
Because I dont do this on PC, i enjoy playing PC more. Now that my new cooling is installed, I have a feeling a majority of my time is going to PC games, but if there are any good customs going, I'll get in on em.
Unfortunately, we haven't had that many balanced customs. When Brandon comes back, I'll play more.

Well I can't blame you for that, Tyler does have a better connection than the rest of us. But you are just being petty when you chose to pick on that. It does not give him that much of an advantage. Don't be jealous because he is better than you. In fact, games are much better when he is host.

I'm not sure if that was a cheapshot or not, but ill say this much. Since most of the people that blamed my internet connection for their losses against me when i first joined the clan have mostly stopped and realised that I may be halfway decent at this game.
joe, my internet connection does not aim my weapon for me. It does not throw grenades for me. It does not make close combat decisions for me. All my connection does is give me a better chance at getting host over someone else. When I am off-host its the same as anyone else, if im in full green and your in full green but I kill you, it's not my connection that did it. we have the same ping towards the host if thats the case, even we're both in half green or yellow, off host is off host. and a ping bar or two doesnt depend on your virtual masterchief life.
so, i invite you to play more games with me like everyone else did in the clan before you judge my skill compared to yours.
I am most definatly not trying to bash you, i have the upmost respect towards you and your status in the clan, just trying to let you know that as i would any other person. Don't take it the wrong way.
Sorry about the off topic.. id add a comment about the game if i knew something about it haha ;D

Im not insulting Tyler or his skill. I know he's damn good. But, Ping isnt a factor here. Ping doesnt necessarily affect anything but General speed. Because Ping is represented by a color and not a number, we can't be sure if our ping is the same. But, how many times have I bashed Tyler and NOT have him take ANY damage?
Tyler/ Keven/ the old Brandon, used to be a TANK because of his host. So, Tyler's weapon isn't aimed by his T1, but it fires about 1.6 times faster. It doesnt aim throw his nades, but it lets him get them in the air faster (ever been stuck by someone u beat down with the sword.?) It doesn't make close combat decisions, but it affects everyone else's. (Ever lunge RIGHT through someone? 4 times in a row!?!?!?! Ever hit someone with a sword once, with a hit that should kill, but only have it glance off and get beat down by that person?) Ever throw a plasma through someone?
Ever fire a shotgun, and hit someone in the head from point blank range, only to have them turn around, shoot u in the chest, and then mutter "pwndizzled"? U see, Tyler, I am NOT attacking u directly. Because u have such an amazing connection, im using u as an example.
We here at TDC know ur good, but we also know that ur connection is hardcore rape. I used to feel the same about Brandon's connection, and my opinion of things like this hasn't changed. I am sorry that u have to take the heat for this, but It's not intended for this, ur just the first example that comes to mind. Sometimes, it's not even that bad, but other times, ur connection stays strong while mine suffers.
It's factors like this that make Halo suck. I could still be a 37 or even HIGHER if connection didn't have such a big role. So please, this is more of an attack at the game than anyone here, please dont take it personally.

I can't say that I've played COD but i can say that I played COD 2 and Counterstrike is pretty fun. It is cool but i hate the fact that there aren't any vehicles.

Your right, ping isnt represented by number, but by color AND bars, if you look closely there is about 8 small bars there, which represents your connection towards the host. If none of us are host and we both have the same bar, its going to work the same way.
It's like cell phone reception. If your getting 5 bars and im getting 5 bars were going to hear the same amount of static.

OK to get back on subject i played COD 2 at a store and it was awsome. The graphics rock on the 360. Still it's not as fun as Halo.
