Great game. Requires much strategy. Graphics are superb, great sound, much diversity in the game (i.e. you govern your towns in depth as well as fight strategic battles). you guys should check it out. but i warn you, it's time consuming/addicting. much like halo 2.

i havent played it but there are to many games like that.
age of empires, age of mythology, heroes, rise of nations, and civilization ( not exactly the same but similiar) there are probably more that i cant remember but most of these games are the same and after a while you get sick of it then you only play it like two or three times a year. The problems with these games are that the AI are so repetitive and easy to beat

you'd think that the stereotype would carry over onto Rome: Total War, but it does not. I know what you mean tho, by "there are too many games like that." I've played all of those games you mentioned except civilization, and to be honest, this game is quite different. I mean, you have a detailed environment the size of the known world at the time, and it changes. the weather changes, everything. it's a ginormous, artificial ecosystem that is yours for the taking.

it depends. you can choose easy, normal, or hard. but, even in easy, the AI can be real pains in the asses. they don't repeat things either. everything is different every time. nothing happens twice in that game.
