Just some advice Joe. This is not very a traditional approach to photoshop, but what i did to start it was to play around with the different filter and all the image options. And then i played around with the other features. And then when you are done playin around, go to a tutorial website and try to copy some of their designs.

Ummmm... I started by using a book. Ive done a few pieces in it if u guys wanna see. Not very good... (improper blending for the most part) and im learning it in computers class at school. It is ALOT of fun though... and These are my first two real projects. They each took me maybe... 30 mins or less to do, but I wasnt sure what I needed to do to blend better... Advice is much appreciated.

Tip of the day: If you are going to try to photo manip. you must blend the photoshopped image into the picture, best way is to place yourself behind the focal point of the picture, makes it easier.

Tutorials help a ton, and for beginning projects there is probably a tutorial for whatever you are working on.

CS isn't just one program it's a 'suite' of programs. Creative Suite...

Adobe CS2 = Adobe Photoshop/Imageready, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe GoLive!, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Distiller, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and of course Adobe Bridge. Just wait for CS3, it's gonna have 2 new programs...
