TDC's Xbox Live Arcade Tournament
You have all been hearing about it for a while now, and this is the official announcement for TDC's Xbox Live Arcade Tournament. This tournament is open to all TDC members and will feature a double elimination head to head style tournament featuring 4 different arcade games. See below for all the details.
Games
Based on our discussion, I have decided to go with 4 games. Those games are:
Uno
Worms
Texas Hold'em
Marble Blast Ultra
To participate in the tourney you must have at least 2 of the games. I want to have a tournament with a little bit of variety, but we also have to realize not everyone has all the games. Plus it would be rather presumptuous to ask people to pay to download games. I believe the 2 out of 4 requirement is a fair compromise.
Match-ups/Tournament Format
As I said, this is a double elimination tournament. This will be accomplished via head to head match ups based on initial seeding. The first round losers will drop to a losers bracket and have to battle their way out. Seeds will be based on your Xbox 360 gamer score, highest gamer score = highest seed.
Each match up will be a best of 3 contest. If possible, the 3 rounds shall all be different games. If the two players only have two common games, they shall decide in advance which game will be played twice. If the two players only have one common game, it can be played all three times. Hopefully we won't have a match up with 0 common games. The finals will be best of 5 with similar game structure.
When the brackets are posted (probably next week), please contact your opponent to set up a time to compete. Results are to be posted in the Clan Events board and must be confirmed by both players.
Game Specific Rules
Uno - Set up a player match and invite your opponent. Use just the standard rules, you can play to whatever score you two decide on.
Marble Blast Ultra - Choose any level, make max players 2, and 1 private slot. Then the host can invite his opponent and then you guys have 3 minutes to battle it out for the most gems!
Texas Hold'em - We will be playing heads up tournament style no limit hold'em. From the multiplayer menu, choose Tournament, Player Match, Create Match. Blinds should be $2/$4 with a buy-in of $600. Number of players = 2. Then choose a private game, start it up and invite your opponent. When you are out of chips, you lose.
Worms - From the multiplayer menu, choose Xbox Live Game, Create Match. Scheme = Intermediate, Team = (your choice), Number of Players = 2, Match Type = Player Match. Then choose Host Game, invite your opponent and let the wormage begin!
Registration
Players must register in advance to participate. You do so by posting in this thread. Please state that you are registering, give your gamertag and what games out of the 4 above that you have (or will be downloading if you wish). See my reply below for an example. Registration will close Sunday April 13th at 11:59pm PDT.
Time Frame
As said above, registration closes Sunday April 13th at 11:59pm PDT. Brackets will be formed and posted in a new thread the following day, so this tournament should be up and running Monday April 14th. After that, we will take as long as we need. However, you must make contact with your opponent to schedule a match within 4 days of the start of that round, and have 10 days to complete your match. If neither of those requirements are met, you will forfeit that game.
Good luck all, please ask questions if you have any.
