TDC Doubles Tournament
Date: Saturday April 29th
Time: 11 am pacific time
Location: On your TV you donkey
Duration: Aprrox 1 hour
I anticipate being available this Saturday, so I figured we should make this doubles tournament happen. I have listed all the details below.
TDC Doubles Tournament Guidelines
- Pick your own teams: You may chose your teammate in advance if you like. If you are present at tournament start time and you don't have a partner, then you will be given one. I will be the oddman out, filling in or sitting out as needed.
- Pool Play Format: The first part will be pool play in which each team playes another team, making the first round several games. The two teams with the best records will play each other in the final round. If there is a tie, those two teams will play a single game tiebreaker
- Pool Play: Each team will play several first round games so in order to keep the time down (10 minutes or less per game), the first game rounds will be shortened. This will be accomplished by lowering the kill limit or reducing # of flags or time needed. See the game types below.
After a first round game is completed, players must rejoin my party and wait for me to tell them who their next opponent is. If I am playing, just wait and I will send invites when my game is over.
- Final round: One normal length championship game between the two teams with the best records. Game type listed below.
8-12 players has been the typical tournament size, which means 4-6. That equates to 3-5 first round games for each team. You can see why that means the first round games need to be shortened.
Pool Play Games (to be played in this order)
Round 1 - KotH Warlock (2 minutes)
Round 2 - TS Lockout (25 kills)
Round 3 - TS Midship (25 kills)
Round 4 - KotH Lockout (2 minutes)
Round 5 - TS Warlock (25 kills)
Tiebreaker - CTF Warlock (3 flags)
Championship Game: CTF Midship (5 flags)
Each team will play one less game than the total # of teams in the first round. So if there are 5 teams, each team will have 4 first round games. So we will play the above games as necessary in the first round. NO SWORD ALLOWED AT ANY TIME. Host in the first round will be determined by a coin flip. There will be a neutral host in the championship game.
