We have now had 2 sniper, 2 h2h, and 2 FFA tournaments. So what do you guys want to do next? We can do rockets, shotguns, or noob combos like before, or we can do something more creative. I saw some interesting suggestions in the other thread. Bring em up again as we have more time to discuss.
The date and time will be announced soon. It will for sure happen on a weekend.

I think we should do a RRX tournament. We should have two people in the couryard of lockout, battle it out using only rrx, with the other guys watching.

I don't think an rrx tournament would be a good idea.
Nuetral flag is a good idea, but it would be hard to do that and have a fair tournament. Picking your own teams would not be allowed. I think the only fair way to do that would be for me to decide the teams on the fly, or have multiple rounds of random teams. In fact, I have a good idea for that. Each game is to 1 flag. So basically after 1 team scores, the round (game really) is over. We randomize the teams and repeat the process. We do this 4 or 5 times so that everyone partners up with each person. Then the winners of the tournament will be based on the combined PI's of all the games.

Sounds good but a little complex and I know people are going to balk at not having their choice of partners.

Very true, which is why a 2v2v2v2 n. flag tournament may be too complicated an undertaking. Plus there is the issue of more or less than 8 people participating. I think these tournaments need to be something that everyone can participate in if they show up.

Maybe run it as a bracket elimination style. Insead of 2v2v2v2 have 2 or more rooms of 2v2 then a best of 3 series in each room. Winners advance to the next round until all that's left is a final 2v2. This would require some coordination and I'd be glad to help if needed. I would even go so far as to say let them pick their own teams. There's enough good players that the teams would not be so unfair. You could even stipulate that it's 1 good player with 1 not so good player and have the team submit names. If they look unfair, let them know then resubmit.

We can go that direction if people want. And sure, picking teams will work. But whatever format we chose, we need to the total time to be under an hour because people might have to leave.
So we could have a straight doubles tournament. Pick your own teams. If you are present at game time and you don't have a team, we will make them for you. I will be the odd man out. If we have even # of people, great. If not, I will fill in. The only way to run it would to have a pool play style tournament, with each team facing the other team once. Then the two teams with the best record in the pool play round play each other in the final round.
Sounds complicated but its not really. If we go with this all you will need to do is show up, I will worry about who plays who. Plus I will detail it in a separate thread to answer any questions.

That does sound like fun. You can pick teams or we can pick teams, it doesn't matter to me.
