so last night i was on my laptop...it was on the table next to my bed...i fell ãsleep I woke up hours later more thar 8 hours to find ã pillow had ended up on thwarted keyboard....and the entire laptopp was really freaking hot to touch' it was working until I decided that I neededd to reboot it now nothing works, it bootss up fine vur gets stuck at the xp login screen... it accepts no input of any kind, ..the power Button won't even work, I have to take out the battery to make it werk I tried attaching ã keyboard and mouse but it woukd not work what did I do? ? A pillow on the keyboard shouldn't have caused an overheat. Windows may be having problems detecting hardware that may have the solder melted away from the board connections.
Have you tried a system restore to see if that fixes the problem? Can you get it to boot into safe mode?

what was it sitting on? your bed? if it was more then likely the battery went out and shorted the usb along with it happened to my laptop.
