Let me see if I can answer your questions. 1. I've used the toughbook 29 and they are great. They withstand a drop from 6 feet, you can spill stuff on it and not worry, you can get it with wireless internet and a touch screen if you'd like. 2. The CF-19 is really cool. It's a fully rugged laptop so it'll take a beating. 3. Stick with Windows XP Tablet Edition that comes with it. I'm not sure if Vista supports Table PC's and you wouldn't want to lose that function by upgrading. 4. I hope your ready for the price. Ruggedized laptop run about $2500 to start and go up from there depending on options. (like a backlit keyboard) 5. I recommend that if you get one, upgrade the ram along with the purchase. You'll be glad you did. Here's the Panasonic Web site for the CF-19: Panasonic Toughbook CF-19On the page it says they recommend Vista Business but I would call and ask before purchasing. Also, I found a site that said the starting price for one is $4199.00. Hope this help Rory.
