You need to have windows media play 11 installed on your computer or the media sharing program. WMP 11 is the better way to go. Also, you'll need to have your xbox and computer connected to a router. You cannot hook the xbox to the pc and expect them to talk. If you have 2 network ports on your computer then you can hook the xbox to the pc but you'll need to set-up the connection for sharing of the internet over the second card for the xbox to get a connection to live. The best way is eother a router or swtich.

You might be able to use the USB on the pc and the ethernet on the xbox. This will get you internet on both computer but I'm not sure about being able to share files. If you go with a router, then both your pc and your xbox will have ethernet connections and you will definitely be able to share the files.
=edit=
I just looked up your modem. It's a modem/router combo so it should work fine if you us the USB for the pc and ethernet for the xbox.

I'm not sure if I can help with the strict NAT. That is a setting in the router so you'd have to log into the router and add the ports for xbox live. As far as the networking, Run the USB connection to your PC and the ethernet cable to your xbox. Download and install windows media player 11. You can get that here: Windows Media Player 11. Once you get it installed open it up and then goto the media section on the xbox. It should walk you through the steps to set-up media sharing on the xbox. You should see a prompt from WMP on your PC that states a new device was found do you wish to share the library with it. (or something along those lines) You'll want to say yes and finish the set-up. Once it is all shared you can browse your entire music lirbary on your 360. Here's an article from teh MS knowledge base the walks you through it: Media Sharing
