I was trying to transfer a file from one computer to the other with my flash drive and it said that it is too small. Now the stuff that i was moving was only 89MB. And my flash drive is 2GB. I checked the properties of the flash drive and it said that it only has a capacity of 1mb. This flash drive worked before, but after i formatted it, it became 1mb. I tried to reformat it but the option for 2gb does not come up. Please help.

First, try a different USB port. Second, if you have a different computer try it on that machine to see if it's Vista reading the size wrong. If the same size is reported on both machines, it's a good possibility that the flash drive memory is shot.

I tried it on my other computer and it says the same thing. What do you mean by shot?
Oh and if it helps the flash drive is a cruzer titanium from sandisk with 2gb of space.

shot=bad. It could have been a bad format or the memory has gone bad due to a static spark or a surge from the system. In other words...it's dead.

I reinstalled the thingy it came with and it is back up now. It wouldnt format using FAT 32, so when i reinstalled U3 it came back. Everything is working now.

That's good. It shouldn't take some software for it to work correctly though.

Hey that was going to be my suggestion. If it came with software, you should be able to use that software to re-format it.

That's good. It shouldn't take some software for it to work correctly though. Yea its strange, it looked like a hardware problem. But here is what happened: I found the software for the flash drive online. It came with U3 launchpad thingy. So on there website i decided to remove the U3 software from the device and reinstall it. And when i reinstalled it, it automatically formatted during the installation process. So thats how it came back.
