I have been noticing a little lag in some of these flash games that my sister plays. She says they have gotten slower, so i tried out the kitty cannon game and played it. To my surprise it has gotten a lot slower. So checked the video ram and under adapter ram it says i only have 64mb. However, i got this laptop with 256 video ram in it. I tried installing the drivers but it does not seem to have any effect. I called compaq but they just keep transfering me and taking down my information.
If anyone can help me that would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
Oh yea if you need to know all this started happening when i upgraded to vista. Also if you want to know more about the laptop it is a Compaq presario v6113cl.

I can tell you right off the bat that 256 mb system ram is a little slim to be running Vista on. The specs for a "windows vista capable PC" say you should have at least 512 mb, 1 gb recommended. Also, I am sure you have integrated graphics and your system ram is 256 mb. The GPU will take what it needs from that system ram, thus limiting performance. Just to verify that you indeed have 256 mb ram, right click on "computer" (assuming you have the icon on your desktop) then click properties. It should tell you how much RAM you have under the System heading.

I cannot find your laptop on the Hp/Compaq website. I found the basic 6113EA and TU models and neither list the system specs. I'm with Jeremy though. THe 256 is most likely system RAM and teh graphics card shares it. It basically takes away 64MB from the system just for graphics processing. You should be able to increase this in the BIOS or the properties in the display options but I would not recommend doing that until you figure out if it's shared ram or not. If it is shared then add more RAM before increasing the graphics RAM.
If it's not shared then your locked in @ 64MB unless you can change out your graphics card. (some laptops have this feature).

No No. My system RAM is 2 GB. My video chip is an nvidea go 6150 256 mb.
=edit=
I got it. I got it. I went to the bios setting, and it said that video ram will be up to 64mb. Then i changed it to have up to 256 ram. Now everything is smooth sailing again.

How did you go about doing this?

It was most likely in the display options advanced section. The adapter should be listed there with the amount of ram it has.

How did you go about doing this? Oh i went to system information. Clicked on components, then clicked on memory, then clicked on display. It said adapter ram 64. But i got it now.
