I just upgraded to office 2007 Enterprise Edition. It was available from work for 20 bucks so I couldn't resist. I looks totally different than all the other office versions. The toolbar interface is not what you'd expect. It'll take a little while to get used to it and find all the options I'm looking for. Overall the install went quick and there was only 1 update for the junkmail filter. We'll see how the rest of my experience goes.

Let me know because since I just built my new computer, I am considering purchasing Office 2007. I don't know anything about the changes, I have just seen a few screen shots.

I'll take some screenies and post them here so you can see the changes. Here's some screenies from Office 2007 Enterprise Edition. Access InfoPath Outlook Powerpoint Publisher Word Excel The widows button in the top right is basically your file menu. The text in the main user bars are tabs to those functions. In the case of access, infopath and publisher, they open to a user menu to select a template or blank document. I haven't tried to use any of the office programs as of yet but I'll need to soon due to a paper and outlines for speech class. I can update word functionality after I really start using it.

I use word, and excel on a daily basis, everything else I don't really use. Maybe power point every once and a while.

Yes open office is good and free but us mainstream folks are tied to MS. Maybe someday when Linux become ultra user friendly it'll replace windows but I doubt it'll be anytime soon.
