I dont really like it. It made everything on the interent all wide and a little pixelated. Also i have a problem (its probably why everything is wide and stuff). The problem is that Vista does not recognize that i have an nvidea graphics card installed and it is displaying a standard graphic card's name. I dont know how to change which graphic card it should use. Does anyone know how i can fix this. Also the videos that i previously had are very slow and dont run as smooth.

You'll need to go to the nvidia web site and download the latest forceware drivers for your video card series and yes that is why everything looks crappy. Another reason is that your card, once the right driver is installed, may not support directx 10 and if it does not then you will not have the functionality of the aero interface if you got a version of Vista with the aero. Here's a link to the nvidia drivers web page. Hope this helps. Also, check the documentation that come with your computer to ensure your downloading the correct version of the forceware.

How do i know if i have aero? I got vista home premium in the mail as a free upgrade. Also i fixed the problem with the video card, but now when i got to play videos the laptop just crashes. i am downloading the latest directx thingy to see if that works. But if you have something else in mind please let me know.

I got it!!! I found all the right drivers at the compaq website and they fixed all the problems. Once these problems are fixed this is a great operating system. Very nice visual effects, hard to get around at first but it is pretty cool once you know what you are doing.

I built my new computer from scratch with vista...everything looks hot. But I installed all the drivers right away and had no problems. I am sure there are complications with an upgrade though.

I'm hoping to make the trasnition sometime this summer. My biggest issues is printer drivers and according to the web site it'll be sometime in April when they are available. Did you go with the 64 bit or 32 bit version. I'm thinking of going 64 bit since I have a 64 bit processor and I want to use it. I realize that most games and rograms do not take advantage of the 64 bit path as of yet but I'd rather be prepared.

32 bit because I was it was cheaper and I was impulsive. I might have wished I went 64 bit further down the road though.

I dont like it that much either......toooooo many glitches.....that r still around that havent been fixed... Yea there are lots of glitches and stuff, but if you do the stuff you normally do with your computer it will get used to it. Just gotta download a lot of drivers thats all. Other than that it is pretty sweet. Oh and another thing (I dont know if you can do this with the regular windows xp) i got everything to work with a single click. No more double clicking. Its a small thing but i like it.

That's a feature in all versions of windows but it's usually not something people go looking for so it's not commonly known.
