I've never heard of it flashing. Is it a green or red flash?

It might be your batteries, the controller starts flashing when they are getting low, even though you can keep playing with them for a few days. It happened to me in the middle of a game, I had to run and find batteries why my opponent pwned me standing still.

I don't think the power button on the console flashes when the batteries in the controller are dead. The one thing I read is taht when there's activity with the DVD drive the power button will flash. The only exception is when you turn power off withteh drive tray open. The light will not flash becasue the system is powering down.

Wait, Rory, is it triple red lights and flashing? I had that when I had to send my 360 in. It means a part is broken on the inside.
