Ok, after getting home from Toronto and sleeping, I wake up, turn on my computer, and when I get to my sign in screen, I get a message saying "Your version of Windows is not Genuine. It may be a process of counterfeiting, and be missing some abilities," or something very close to that, I think it's out of order. Anyone have a clue on this one? I haven't ever seen/heard of it before, nor has Impact. I didn't download anything before I left, either. Didn't install the updates, nothing. Any clue?

This is the Windows Genuine Advantage tool that comes as part of an autoamtic update. If you have the auto update set to install updates without notifing you, it's installed now. What it's telling you is that the version of Windows XP that you have do not have a Microsoft issued CD-key. So that means you do not legally own a copy of Windows XP licensed for that particular computer.
The solutions are: 1. Follow the prompts and buy a license for your windows XP. It'll be around $100 or so depending on which version you have.
2. Buy a copy of XP from a store. That'll also be around $100 or so.
3. Ignore the prompt. You will only receive critical updates from now on and will not be able to use the Microsoft Update or Windows Update to get any other fixes or updates.
4. Uninstall the advantage tool and do not reinstall it. Set you automatic updates to prompt before installing and always choose the custom install so you can see what's installing.
The other possibility is that you have a virus. There's one out there that "looks" like the Genuine advange tool but is actually a worm. Update your anti-virus and run a full scan to be sure.
If your computer came with XP on it from the manufacturer then you need to call them to find out why your copy of Windows XP they installed on it is no valid. There were reported problems in the past with this happening.
Hope this clears everything up. Oh, and Microsoft is being sued over this tool BTW.

I'm guessing it was a virus. Great, since my Anti-Virus thing just ran out 2 days ago, and I have to wait until my dad sorts it all out...

Be careful about assuming that it's a virus.

I'm about 85% sure it is a virus, since I have it set to ask me if I want to update, and I haven't updated in 3 weeks.
