Instructions should be available from the manufacturer's website where you downloaded the bin file. If you tell us you exact router make and model we could provide more specific help.

That would be a router issue. Not something you can change from your 360 unfortunately.

It's done onthe computer which will log into the router. Just ask you stepdad to set the xbox ip address in the DMZ. That way it'll be outside all the filters and you should get a better connection.

You would have to connect to the router admin pannel in IE as Rick described. And since you are saying that your step dad has control over that I guess you are out of luck. If it happens Bobby try to get someone else to make the party.

Well, Bobby, it looks like I'm going to have to host the parties like always, since you're out of luck.

I just looked it up, it claims to be xbox live compatable. Here is the page with the firmware updates: kbserver.netgear.com/products/WGR614.aspBUT, you must go a little further and find out what version you have to get the proper download. So look on the bottome label, it should say "WGR614v_". You can follow the link or just post the version and I can direct you.

Generally for the wireless gaming receivers there aren't any firmware updates. The one I have did have a firmware update but it already had it when I bought it. Usually the fixes for those are so minute that it wouldn't make that much of a difference whether or not you had the updated firmware.
