Ohhhh... So really just need basic stuff liek that. I will try to get a regular capture card that goes into my computer and buy those cables.
I can get those cables at radio shak ccorrect?

Yes you can..or circuit city, walmart, home depot, lowes, target, best buy or any other electronics type store.

i get mine off of ebay.
Oh and i just have one more question, my dad is getting a dvd recorder, instead of me using a capture card can i record to the dvd recorder, and then edit the dvd on my comp?

A dvd recorder will recored directly to a dvd-r disk. Some will recoder to a dvd-rw or a dvd+rw or +r but most are only dvd-r which means it's only good for one shot. I suppose you could copy the video from the dvd to the computer and edit it but I really do not know. From what I do know, once a dvd is rendered it's usually not editable. I suppose you could try before you get the video capture stuff just to see.

I have a dvd recorder with about 12 hours of halo on dvd's. You MUST get a video converter to make them a different type of file. BUP files are a pain in the butt to do anything with. IMO, you should go with the capture card.

Yea, we were thinking about getting one that records to a rw, so i can keep using the same one.
