Hey my xbox has been acting up, especially when i play BF2, and it's begining to say that there is a problem with the disc. So i change the game and it still doesn't read it. I think it might be my cd drive but i'm not sure. Oh and these errors are becoming more frequent (especially in the middle of a game).

You on the old xbox with the Tompson (sp?) drive? It has trouble reading a lot of games made in 05.

It is definitely drive ammar. My xbox is going crazy too. When i play tony hawk, which i barely ever play and it is pretty much new, it glitches up. Also, when i am playing Crimson Skies it glitches up also.

You can get replacement drives on EBAY or do a web earch for them. They run about $40 or our can use a regular dvd drive from a computer with a little modification and a y cable for the power.

Wait, if it is the drive, then there would be no problem with Crimson Skies, unless they redid the CD for it without my knowing.

Why would it be any different for Crimson Skies? It still has to read the disk to load the maps into the memory.

My Tompson drive has no problem with old games. It is something with the new CD's that is different in 05 that makes it harder for the drive to run, and, after running enough, will scratch the CD. my Nascar 06 takes about 8-10 tries to start up, and the same with BF2. Crimson skies and Fuzion Frenzy work perfectly every time.
