Here's the deal...you need a hotmail or a .Net passport account registered on xbox.com and the information to your xbox live account. This will cause the bungie.net to show up when playing halo 2. I've posted a link that will walk you through the whole process. Linking your gamertagMoving to technical help section.

The problem with Brandons is that he is probably trying to link his old e-mail to his new account and he cannot do that. Once the gamer tag is linked to a .net passport they are link for ever supposidly.
Here's an answer for Brandon's problem (and others I'm sure) from Major Nelson at xbox.com.
I linked my Gamertag to Xbox.com using my .NET Passport, but since then, I've gotten a new account and a new Gamertag. How do I get my new 'tag linked, so I can access the My Livesection of Xbox.com? —Messed up in Milwaukee
Dear Messed, It's a kind of back-ass-wards way to do it, but nevertheless, there is a way to make it happen. Since you can't unlink a Gamertag from a .NET Passport, you need to link the Gamertag to a different .NET Passport:
1. Create a new .NET Passport account. Just use some Hotmail throwaway e-mail.
2. Link the old Gamertag to the new .NET Passport account. This frees up the link from the old Gamertag to the old .NET Passport.
3. Link your new Gamertag to your old .NET Passport account.

also, you must enable it under your profile at bunie.net. There is an option to enable or disable this feature.
