i have what i think is a unique situation b/c i've never heard of it happening before but i'm not very worldly on these sort of things so w/e. anyway i have a wireless G linksys gaming adapter which connects to a d-link router. when i first connect to live i cant just start gaming because somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes live will disconnect and i have to sign in again. after this initial setback and i sign in the second time the adapter works flawlessly. i was wondering if i set up the adapter wrong (its plug and play so i dont think thats it), the router is having problems with the connection to the adapter being they are made by two different companies, or the adapter is having connection problems because it just sucks at life. any help on this situation would be great because its annoying.

O.k. I did some research to find out about your wireless game adapter and I have a couple questions and some suggestions. Please try to answer the questions as best you can. 1. Has the game adapter ever been setup for internet game play or was it just taken from the box and connected to the xbox? If it was taken out of the box and directly hooked up try following the directions for setting it up for internet play. This will require you to connect the adapter to your computer, router, switch, or hub, which ever is easiest to access and that you have in your network. Once you have configured the game adapter for your home network it should work without any problems. 2. If it has been setup for internet play, has there been a recent power outage in your house? If so then you may need to check the settings to make sure they are still there. Sometimes a power outage can cause the adapter to lose its settings causing it to search for a connection rather than automatically connecting to the correct network. 3. Have you tried to upgrade to the latest firmware available for the game adapter and/or the router? I have provided a link for both below. One other setting you should check is on the router. Make sure that the setting to keep the connection active is set properly. You can either set the maximum idle time to zero or enable the automatic reconnect. This should keep the connection active rather than connecting on demand. There should not be any problems with communication between the products just because they are different vendors. They communicate the same way. Hope some of this helps. ;D Game Adapter FirmwareDlink Support Page

Ok... I have a D-Link adapter, and the thing with D-Links is, they take a while to set up. It literally took me 4-days of trial and error to get on live with it. But, once I did it worked PERFECTLY. At first, I hooked the bridge up to my router, then I set it up. (Updated firmware and gave it an IP) then i connected it to my Xbox. I did some setting up on my box. Then I havent had any trouble since then. My Bridge/ router has held up since January so I must have done something rite.
