Hi guys,
sorry i haven't been around in the forums, i am usually either playing bfme2 or masterbating. i am really good at both. anyways, despite being a little dissapointed in the latest patch i love this game, probably bc i have never played a computer game before let alone a rts, and secondly bc i love lord of the rings. if anyone wants to play on the pc send me a friend request. my user names are:

And I have been rocking the 360 version, had a winning streak of 7 ranked games in a row until this guy pwned with with a guardian rush last night. He snuck a builder behind my base and built a mine, then send 5 or 6 bats of guardians through. All the while I was out piliging resources, and only had 1 bat of guardians at my base (I was dwarves as well). I put up a fight until he sent Gloin in to finish the job.
But I won 2 more games this morning before work as Mordor (Witch King = really good, so are attack trolls) so now I am 9 out of 10 this week.
Mershmellow, come by more often to talk strategery, we can make out.

so for those of us without a 360... there is no xbox version of this game, correct? in which case, i might run out and buy the PC version tonight, since i have a free week w/o too much heavy studying in which to learn the ins and outs of this thing. i just hope it isn't too addicting.
by the way, off topic. madden 07 is awesome to play on live. i'm not half bad at it either.

If you have a PC capable of running the game, do that over the 360 version. Although its fun, RTS's are so much easier with a keyboard and mouse.

You just play. I don't know of any RTS game that makes you pay.

Jeremy, how do RTS games work on the 360? I am not exactly sure but here is my guess. The joy stick is used as a mouse and the d pad is used to move you view finder. And the rest of the keys are for something else. But that is my guess, i dont really know. |

Left joystick moves the cursor like the mouse would, and the right joystick rotates the view, clicking the right joystick will restore your view. You can select units by pressing A, then press and hold the right trigger to access their options (a menu pops up). Same for buildings. Then you can scroll with the d-pad and select what you want them to do, i.e. have the barracks train soldiers.
Thats the basics of it. It pretty simple once you get the hang of it. There are options for bookmarking groups (hot keying equivalent) if you get comfortable with the controls, as well as a few more advanced settings.
And playing the PC version online is completely free.
