TDC's Halo 3 PI Week
Halo 3 Game Battles matches have become (and will continue to be) a regular thing, but lets not forget some of the other activities TDC has typically run in the past. Our next Halo 3 clan activity will be PI Week. This is a competition where TDC members have 1 week to come up with the best single game PI.
PI Explained
What is PI? It stands for Performance Index. It is a formula I developed back during Halo 2 to rate a players performance based on complete game stats, the end result being a numerical value. The formula still needs work, but still accomplished its purpose in the end.
Format
The purpose of this competition is to achieve the highest single game PI. You will have as many chances as you need in a 1 week period to accomplish this. In order to keep this somewhat competitive, it must come from a ranked matchmaking game (I will verify via the link you post). Custom games are not eligible. In order to make things fair, th e overall winner will go the the highest PI in a ranked 4v4 playlist. Things takes away the ease of going into Big Team and killing noobs for 20 minutes. However, we will still break down PI's by each ranked playlist.
Reporting Procedure
All you need to do to be in this competition is play a Halo 3 game and post the stats link in the Progress Thread. So if you think you have a good game, just post the link. I will calculate your PI and post it.
This will be a dynamic competition in the sense that I will calculate PI's as they come in, and it will be an ongoing contest to beat the current leading PI. For example, if Phoenix posts a game link, I will calculate his PI and post it, say its 125. Now 125 is the PI to beat. Chief then posts a game, I calc his PI to be 132, now we have a new marker. Rick posts a game with a PI of 112. Sorry, it doesn't count for anything as it didn't beat the highest score, thus Chief's 132 is still the PI to beat.
Dates
This competition will start on Monday May 19 at 12:01am pacific and end Sunday May 25th at 11:59 pm pacific. Any games you report must be from that week (its easy for me to verify). Otherwise I could go searching back and post a game like this, where I had a whopping PI of 657.50.
Prize
There will be a prize for the person who reports the highest PI by the end of this competition. A real prize. It will be in the form of Microsoft Points. Thats right, the winner will receive a MS points card with 1600 points on it. The person with the highest PI in a ranked 4v4 playlist will receive the MS points card and be declared winner of the competition.
Karma points will be up for grabs in all ranked play lists and distributed as follows:
4v4 playlists: 1st = +5, 2nd = +3, 3rd = +1
Top PI in each playlist = +2
If you do well in this competition you can really rack up karma points.
Good luck to you all starting in a few days, please let me know if there are questions.
