Besides the melee and spawns. What is wrong with this game. I have played it for about a month and I think it is awesome. I have played the COD4 demo and it is cool too. But really I want to know what are the bads in Halo 3 that keep you from even touching the game?

That. and bad map design. The maps killed it for me. With Halo 2, there were a good 5-6 maps I could play multiple times. Halo 3, there's maybe 1. The Pit. I'm not going to waste money on maps when the ones they gave us were bad to begin with.

What do you mean? Like no clan support? Some of the maps are really cool. Like Guardian, epitah, pit, narrows. Those are really good maps. But yea some are not that good like construct (partly because I have no clue where any one is) and Isolation. But you should not dislike it because of a few bad maps. I mean comon for a bunch noobs bungie dudes are they did an okay job.

Ew, no.
Guardian = the lockout remake? Too easy for any noob to lob grenades around any corners and the hallways are so small that you're like guaranteed to be hit by said grenades.
Epitaph, more small hallways / ramps and lots of grenade throwing.
Narrows, the hill in the middle kills the map. Basically any team who can even moderately hold that middle hill will win. They have elevation over you and that's key.
Pretty much, the maps are catered for noobs. Almost all of them have tight hallways which any noob can throw grenades into and get kills.
That annoys me.
Also, the Veto system. A good idea, which sucked. 75% of the time when people Vetoed a game, you got a worse one to replace it.

I mean comon for a bunch noobs bungie dudes are they did an okay job. Not exactly that, because there is a way to have clan support in a sense, I posted it months ago, and was told it would get set up. It takes about 5 minutes to setup, and it's been ohh... 3 or 4 months I'm guessing? I'm fine with the pit. Guardian is kind of repetitive, it's like a boring version of lockout. throw grenades across from tower to lift, the occasional guy rushes, and maybe some noob down low. The whole left side of the map with the bubble shield and ramp rarely gets used, because it's asking for grenades to the face. What a waste of space. Narrows, meh. Would be better if the middle was flat. Doesn't make sense to me to put a rocket in the middle on a platform and have you be able to shoot down on people so easily. Might as well automatically give you at least a double kill if you touch rockets on that map. If epitaph would lose the dumb shield doors.. EDIT: Agreed with Brandon. I ranted about Halo 3 somewhere.. let me find the link. Found it.. ---- Halo 3 is a different story though. It didn't take me very long to start realizing all of the things that annoyed me about that game, and before I knew it I was back to that feeling of wanting to put my controller through my TV. The melee system is abysmal, any 'pro' could die to a first day player just like that if they got close enough to hit the B button. This due to the wonderful idea that "the most health wins" and the maps that FORCED close quarter action. Nothing like being able to get in close for that B button only to realize you DON'T have the most health, and that your melee will only do damage if that guy doesn't throw a melee of his own within the next second or two. The maps.. Ugh. I can't speak for the new maps, didn't buy them. But even so, I don't think I should have to look for the first or second good map in an expansion pack. Most of the maps had potential to be good (Isolation, Narrows, Guardian, Snowbound, Epitaph) Some were decent (High Ground, Construct, Last Resort) And one was "good" (The Pit) And I noticed that pretty much 80% of the maps had a lot of hallways and rooms that barely could fit one grenade explosion. Great. <3 how all you have to do is be able to press LT to get some damage on anyone in that room. I'd say a kill, but grenades were pretty random in my opinion. Sometimes they killed like they were supposed to, sometimes it would take more than I could carry. Same goes for most weapons. I didn't like the feel of the game, it wasn't like either of the other two Halo games. They fixed too many things that didn't need fixing. That's my beef. I realize you said besides the melee and spawns.. but uhh, that's kind of a huge part of the game. Kind of like if I said, what's wrong with criminals? Besides the fact they can put peoples lives in danger and steal valuables.

There's one map where that is true Shipment. Maybe Standoff. None of the rest. You chuck a nade on something like Overgrown and you won't kill anyone. It's used with UAV to find groups and chuck on at the area.

This Sounds just like CoD4 in my experiences. This is only usually true on Vacant/Shipment, unless you're so bad you don't notice the grenade icon in the middle of your screen. CoD4 has more open maps than Halo, thats for sure. Oh, and you were hardcore off topic anyways. This would be the Halo 3 discussion.

Do you guys like the hammers, and the sword now? I like the hammers because I actually enjoy those game types. But swords are the worst. Especially swords on snowbound.
