Or maybe you just gave into the mass advertising of the game and decided to buy it and play off as a joke. ?

The game is just unbelieveable. Co-op is extremely fun, and multiplayer is a blast when you get going in some 4v4 with people you know. @ Jeremy: That was the point. You all believed I didn't like the game at all and wasn't going to get it. u said that u were never going to buy this game ..u said it looked stupid

I don't even know where to begin. The graphics are stunning, even on my 19" non-HD TV. The environments are well put together and the sound is awesome. I really don't like the howling screeches right before one of the creatures comes running at you. If your deep into the game that'll scare the piss out of you.
It took a couple checkpoints to get used to the 3rd person view but it's not that big of a deal now. The combat tactics of the games are one of the main things that makes it fun. Running and ducking behind stuff just to have the Locust destroy your hiding place really sucks but you can do the same to them. I think this brings a new level to the game.
Playing on the "Casual" setting still provides a ton of Locust to shoot at. I cannot imagine what some of the levels would be like on "Hardcore" or "Insane" because they were plently hard enough on "Casual."
The controls were easy to pick up. After the training session in the prision I was good enugh to kill stuff.
Speaking of killing, the chainsaw is the BEST! There's nothing in a game I've ever played like it. Most games have some sort of laser weapon or machine gun but I haven't seen a chainsaw in a game since DOOM. The rest of the weapons are really cool as well. The rocket launcher is really powerful but not so much that it's overpowered.
I got the Torque Bow last night and it's cool with the exploding arrows and all but kinda hard to use as it doesn't zoom in.
The Hammer of Dawn is really cool but the limitations of only being used outside and when a satellite is overhead kind sucks, espicially when it's the only way to kill certain Locust.
The pistol, your main weapon, is acutally pretty good. It has a zoom and in a couple head shots you can blow off the emenies head. Yes, literally blow it off their shoulders.
The shotgun is great close range but as with any shotgun, sucks at a distance.
There's anothe machine gun but I didn't really use it much. I'm sure it fits in somewhere in the game but I'm enjoying hte chainsaw too much to try it out.
The longshot sniper rifle is the shit. It's so cool to get a head shot zoomed in and watch the locusts heads splatter everywhere. It would have been nice to have a clip style rather than a bolt action but the quick reload is fast if you can hit it.
Speaking of the quick reload function. I've notied that each weapon that has it has it in a different location on the reload indicator. For instance, the pistol it about the same place as the machine gun but the sniper and torque bow are further to the right in the reload bar. So if your not paying attention you'll jam your weapon.
I just got the game yesterday and I'm in Act 4 after about 8 hours of playing. the gameplay is really fun IMO. Of course, Brandon spoted off that it's not going to replace Halo and that he'll probably never play it. I say it'll be a metter of time and he'll be trying it out. I played co-op with Roggie yesterday for a bit nad it was really fun. I'm not sue is a 4 person co-op is available but if so, that would be a real blast.
I'm going to have to go back through the levels I completed with Roggie. Play co-op you get teleported to the checkpoint if one person or the other progresses to it. This caused me to not be able to find some of the COG tags. Thinking logically there should be 6 per Act. I've found 13 or 14 of them and I didn't find any in the last couple parts of Act 3 ot the first couple of Act 4.
Back to the graphics for a minute, if you look around at the scenery you'll find the GEARS logo everywhere. It's kinda cool to see how many different ways they put it in the game. I've seen the skull in pools of blood and stenciled on walls. I'm sure it's other places.
The feel of the game is one really well too. When you're running you feel like your a 300+ pound guy running. The vehicle drives like a big vehicle would, slow and powerful. It seems very well balanced to me.
I tried the multiplayer once but was disconnected right away. I'll give it another whirl later. I'm too excited to finish the game then play it agian on a harder level.
The achievements are fairly simple to get until you come to the versus ones. Most of those require 100 kills in ranked matches to get them.
Hopefully there won't be cheaters in the game but as with any game I'm sure someone will try to pick it apart to find someway to cheat.
I'd say overall, the Game is AWESOME! I would recommend to anyone who likes gory shooter games. I believe that it was never intended to replace Halo because it's a whole different game in itself. I think die hard Halo fans, Brandon, should at least give it a try to see that there are games out there that are just as good, if not better in some ways.
I'm hooked and will most likely be playing GEARS, Chromehounds and Ninety-Nine Nights until something better comes along.

I just completed the game today (on Casual). The storyline is actually pretty good, although basic. The ending has something that will not be a suprise. THe last fight is fun, but very dumb if you have a CPU teammate.

I am not a huge fan of the multiplayer right now, probably because I get owned too much. You really have to get used to it, its a very different feel.

I haven't played as much as I would have liked so it's still really fun to me. Playing the hardcore level is a bit harder than I expected. The AI team become more of a liability than help for clearing the level. They are always getting knocked down and I have to try to save them while trying to keep myself alive. I'm betting you've overplayed the game just like you said you would. Move on to something else then come back to see if it gets better for you.

Yes it is. I guess my point is that the multiplayer is a lot different, don't expect it to be like Halo or something. You can't run into a situation and dominate, you have to be really careful, think about everything you do. Its all based on duck and cover, teamwork is essential. I am sure I will have a better time when I get better at it. It defenitly takes time. Single player is awesome though, but still too short.

I'm not saying the game isn't good; the single player got old fast. They need a couple more gametypes like a basic deathmatch and a CTF.
