Armies in RTS have to be balanced, but that does not mean they have to have equivalent units or vehicles, just effective counters to all. For example, there may not be a human equivalent to the banshee, but there would have to be special units to shoot it down (i.e. SAM's) and the humans may make up for it with more in depth ground based vehicles. The possiblities are endless and hopefully they will do a good job with that in Halo Wars.

There will have to be a bunch of things not seen in the halo universe as of yet. But, did anyone download the theme? It rocks. The gamerpics suck, though.

I was wondering when an RTS would happen. After all that's what Halo was originally supposed to be, an RTS. Yeah, I remember reading about HaloGen as well. I was kinda excited about it. Oh well, It should hold us over until Halo Wars comes out.

Halogen as in... the gases? This is HaloGen. Remember. As in Halo Generals. Cuz, its a conversion pack to make C&C Generals into a Halo RTS.

No, i had to make a website using photoshop in my class. And i decided to put together halo with something. Halogen sounded cool, so i made it a clan name, and made a really cool fake clan webstie.

If I was Halogen I would be so pissed. How many years did they spend making that mod, like 2 and a half? I bet you that they had to ask bungie to use their name to begin with and they were given permission, but now bungie turns around and bites them in the ass and takes their own idea.
I guess the makers of Halogen should have known what they were getting into., although they wasted a hell of a lot of time and money making that mod

So here's the "official" response: -Yes the mod will be finished, albiet underground -Bungie did NOT want to shut them down, however Microsoft pushed and shoved Bungie into demanding them to cease and desist -They did indeed get permission from Bungie for the name, like I said, Microsoft didn't like them, Bungie did. So we'll see, I"m sure in the next few months it'll be released on IRC and through emails and what not. Oh and the mod has been around for about 3 years. |
