Other than the big random black spot in the bottom right corner, it looks good.
One thing though: Try adding an atmosphere effect to the planet.

Also, down near the big black spot the planet starts to get a bit edgy.

If this is your first time it good. However, I must agree with the others on the big black spot. If you are trying to create sort of a lighting effect use the light filter, and if that isn't enough you can also try to use the fade effect. You should visit www.good-tutorials.com to learn more stuff.

I'm assuming that the big black spot was supposed to be a shadow effect.
My advice to you would be to do this: Create a New Layer. Go to Image > Apply Image Use the Burn tool set at about 75% and brush along that area.
If 75% is not dark enough, then you can turn it up to 90%, or simply brush over that area again with the Burn at 75%.
Edit: And yeah, that link that Meesam posted is great. When I first got started out with PS, I was at that site every day almost.
