what do i need to hook up my computer to my tv (to use the tv as a monitor) and how much will that cost?

i wanna move my computer by my tv, but there really isn't a place to put a screen so i wanna turn my tv into my computer screen

There are TV out cards you can buy but I would realy suggest not putting your computer on your TV unless you have a HD TV. The picture quality is really crappy. You have to set the refresh rate to 60 hz because that's as high as a standard tv can go. So you'll be looking at 640x480 resolution.

I have tried before, like Rick said, the quality is horrible. I wouldn't recommend it.

It is bad. My teacher does it at school so we can see the daily plan on the monitor, but for games, it is excruciatingly(sp?) bad.
